Motherhood is often associated with love, care, and putting others first. Somewhere along the way, mothers often begin to think that their own needs, rest, or identity should come second — or even be set aside entirely. When self-sacrifice becomes expected or constant, it can quietly impact emotional wellbeing, relationships, and the way mothers relate to themselves.
In the next episode of PsycleCAT's podcast, clinical psychologists Dr Agnes Chong and Yen Ling will explore the idea of self-sacrifice in motherhood, why mothers feel pressured to “give everything,” and whether caring for oneself and caring for one’s family truly have to come at the expense of one another.
